Leah Nicole Whitcomb
Leah Nicole Whitcomb is community storyteller from central Mississippi who believes stories are for everyone so she strives to make her work accessible through whatever medium she use (writing, film, audio). She co-hosts the Hoodoo Plant Mamas podcast with Dani Bee. It's one of the top 5% of podcasts streamed globally on Spotify!

Leah writes stories about Black folks, love, and magic, all elements present in her debut speculative fiction collection, Apocalypse Still. Her writing is featured in Sistories, Samjoko Magazine, Root Work Journal, The Rumpus, and Medium. Leah has also authored a poetry chapbook bloom and a young adult romance, About the Boy.

A 2022 Courage to Write Grant recipient, her work has been supported by The deGroot Foundation, Voices of Our Nation Arts Foundation (2020), Bereket Writers, and the Women of Color Writers Podcast & Women’s National Book Association’s Authentic Voices Fellowship (2022).

Currently, she's working on her romance series exploring disability, grief, and spirituality. The first book of this series, About the Boy is available for pre-order and, an excerpt from this series is published in the young adult anthology, All the Ways a Heart Burns.
